 (You will have to write/type an essay on a topic which consists of 200-300 words in 20 minutes. There are two main types of essays asked in the PTE exam; argumentative essay and descriptive essay. Remember, there is no right or wrong in terms of content when you write an essay. So be free with expressing your thoughts and personal opinions on the topic.)

Some people think that online education offers flexibility, convenience, and easy access to information, while others believe that it causes a lack of discipline and weak interaction between students and teachers. In my opinion, the advantages of online education are greater than the disadvantages. This essay will discuss both views and explain why the benefits are more important in modern society.


One main advantage of online education is flexibility. This is because students can choose their own study time and location according to their personal schedules. For example, working professionals and parents can attend online classes after work or household responsibilities.
Another benefit is the wide availability of learning resources, which helps students gain knowledge from different sources. Online platforms provide recorded lectures, digital books, and practice materials, allowing learners to revise lessons multiple times and improve their understanding effectively.


However, online education also has some disadvantages. One major drawback is the lack of direct communication with teachers and classmates. This happens because learning takes place through digital screens rather than physical classrooms. For instance, students may hesitate to ask questions or feel isolated during lessons.
Even so, these problems can be reduced with proper planning and control. Regular live sessions, group discussions, and clear schedules can help students stay engaged and motivated.


In conclusion, although online education has some disadvantages, its advantages are much stronger. Therefore, the benefits of online education clearly outweigh the drawbacks in modern society, making it an effective and practical learning option.

Nowadays, governments are facing increasing pressure to improve transportation systems. Some people think that investing more money in public transportation is beneficial for society, while others believe that building new roads is more important. In my opinion, the advantages of spending more on public transportation are greater than the disadvantages. This essay will discuss both views and explain why this approach is more effective in the long term.


One main advantage of investing in public transportation is the reduction of traffic congestion. This is because buses, trains, and metros can carry a large number of passengers at the same time. For example, efficient metro systems in big cities help reduce the number of private cars on the road.
Another benefit is environmental protection, which helps reduce air pollution. Public transport uses less fuel per person, resulting in lower carbon emissions and a cleaner environment.


However, focusing mainly on public transportation also has some disadvantages. One major drawback is the high initial cost of building and maintaining transport systems. This happens because infrastructure such as rail lines and stations requires large investments. For instance, developing underground metro systems can be very expensive.
Even so, these problems can be reduced with proper planning and control. Long-term benefits such as lower pollution and reduced congestion often justify the initial costs.


In conclusion, although investing in public transportation has some disadvantages, its advantages are much stronger. Therefore, governments should prioritise spending on public transportation, as the benefits clearly outweigh the drawbacks in modern society.
